"For several years, PIPSC has collaborated with the CNSC to develop a comprehensive pay equity plan. While we are encouraged by the steady progress made thus far, we regret that the plan will not be finalized by the legislated deadline of September 4, 2024. However, PIPSC is confident in the quality and integrity of the work completed to date, which is based on sound and reliable data. We remain committed to working closely with the employer to ensure the timely publication of a finalized pay equity plan as soon as it is practically feasible.

The CNSC / PIPSC pay equity committee continues making progress, but an extension is required to do the job right. The committee is of the opinion that and the plan is to be done correctly, the legislative September 2024 deadline is unattainable, and the employer is applying for an extension to the commission.

The PIPSC NUREG Group is pleased to announce that our members have voted to accept the tentative agreement reached with CNSC on April 3, 2024.

We anticipate signing our new collective agreement in the coming months, following management completing their ratification process. Then we will be in touch with next steps on its implementation.

In solidarity,

Jennie Esnard
NUREG Group President, PIPSC
