The NFB group’s bargaining team met with the Employer on June 20, 2016, and with the team responsible for the WFA on October 31, 2016. Peter Kallianiotis joined the management team. Unfortunately, we then lost our negotiator, and it took some time to replace her.

In May 2017, Claude Poirier took over as our negotiator. After a few preparatory meetings, we met with the employer at the first available dates, i.e. from August 28 to 30 2017.

Greetings

Your local Executive wishes our members a Safe & Happy Labour Day!

Don’t just take our word for it. Ask the experts who just published the International Civil Service Effectiveness (InCiSE) Index 2017. Canada’s public servants are number one!

And you can help keep it that way by visiting our new action.pipsc.ca member website, where you’ll be able to learn more about our “Best in the World” advertising campaign.

From Labour Day to the end of October, PIPSC will be running street ads in the National Capital Region on Wellington and Sparks streets and in Hull near Place du Portage, as well as elevator ads in office buildings located in the downtown Ottawa core.

These ads feature six PIPSC members, government professionals like you, from across Canada. Read their profiles, watch their videos, and find out what they do and why their work is so important to Canadians from coast to coast.

And on action.pipsc.ca, you’ll be able to endorse our call for more investments in Canada’s professional public service.

We’re the best! Let’s keep it that way.

The triennial Public Service Employee Survey (PSES) has been released and government employees have until September 29, 2017 to complete the questionnaire.

As in 2014, PIPSC recommends that its members participate in the 2017 PSES, which can serve as the basis for improvements within the overall public service. Most notably, this year’s survey includes questions about the Phoenix pay system. This is a great opportunity for PIPSC members to help the Employer realize the real scope of the problem and how much of their time it has consumed.

The survey is administered by Statistics Canada under the auspices of protective federal legislation and individual responses are not provided to the Employer.

We therefore encourage members to take part in the survey before it closes on September 29.

Learn more about the 2017 PSES survey here.
