We have participated (as a guest) to Treasury Board Secretary (TBS) Chief Information Office (CIO) IT Generics suite Refresh for the CS Group Classification, soon to go through IT reclassification – Process for conversion is supposed to start around Dec 1st, 2020. It will be a ongoing project from now to the next couple of years.

It has come to our attention that CRA is not crediting employees for their vacation or sick leave earned while on LIA. This is occurring in spite of the fact that our AFS collective agreement provides for the earning of vacation and sick leave while on LIA.
To earn sick leave in a given month, an employee must “receive pay for at least seventy-five (75) hours.” Similarly, to earn the vacation leave accumulation, an employee must “receive pay on at least ten (10) days or seventy-five (75) hours.” Employees do receive pay while on LIA.

As public service professionals, it’s important that we think about which parties are going to increase public services and which ones are going to decrease them. When it comes to making the lives of Ontario children, seniors, families, and our members better, that matters. Because more and better public health care, child care, education and jobs make the difference between communities that are strong, healthy, and vibrant ... and those that aren’t.
Your vote matters. You already know how important your work can be to the lives of others. That’s why I want to urge you to be sure to vote on June 7 – and to vote for public services.
