Prizes for PIPSC Prairies/NWT Members Who Vote in the 2018 National Election

Dear Prairies/NWT PIPSC Members,

The 2018 PIPSC National Elections to elect the Executive Officers on the PIPSC Board of Directors is taking place from October 12 until November 2.  To encourage members of the Prairies/NWT Region to vote, all ballots cast will be entered into a random draw for the following prizes: The first name drawn will have a choice of either an IPad Mini or a Microsoft Surface Go. The second name drawn will win a Fit Charge 3.

Here’s what your vote can do:

1. It can get you a better Collective Agreement!

Employers can view the public results of our election to determine if our members are active and organized. This affects their approach to bargaining with us. A union that acts with strong solidarity is likely to achieve a lot more than one that cannot engage its members in its National elections.

2. It can get you better service from your PIPSC Elected Officials.

A breakdown of the voting results is provided to candidates after the election. The more active constituencies will inevitably get more attention and resources to address their issues.

3. It’s your democratic right.

The union officials that we elect affect our work lives in many ways. Every member now has the opportunity to make personal decisions and influence the future for Professionals in the Public Service. PIPSC elections are rarely won by comfortable margins, so EVERY vote counts!
