CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR POSITIONS ON THE GUELPH - KITCHENER BRANCH EXECUTIVE
The Guelph / Kitchener Branch is required to elect their Executive every two (2) years per bylaw 6.3. The last election was held in 2019 and was due in 2021. The pandemic prevented us from having elections in 2021 and the current Executive term was extended by one (1) year. We have been mandated by PIPSC to have elections in 2022 subject to our bylaws. In order to return to odd year elections next year, the term of office for this current election shall be for ten (10) months.
Our bylaw 7.3.1 stipulates that elections are to be held at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Unfortunately, we did not schedule the election at our past 2022 AGM and need to schedule one now. To maintain the election of the Branch Executive, PIPSC will assist us in having an electronic voting for positions, similar to voting in PIPSC’s National elections. Pursuant to bylaws 7.2.1 we are opening the election process for nominations.
Nominations are now open for the Guelph / Kitchener Branch Executive and will be closed as of 4:00 p.m. Thursday July 7, 2022. Once the Election Committee has reviewed the nominations, a list will be provided to the membership of candidates running for office. The positions up for election for a ten (10) month term are:
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
Member at Large (maximum 7)
The term of office for these positions is from July 14, 2022, till May 2023 (the next Branch AGM). The duties of the Guelph - Kitchener Branch Executive are described in the constitution of the branch (copies are available from the Institute’s National Office).
All members in good standing of the Guelph - Kitchener Branch are eligible to be candidates except for exclusions and members of the Elections Committee.
The deadline for receipt of nomination forms (see enclosed) is 4:00 p.m. Thursday July 7, 2022.

Candidates are invited to submit a brief resume of their experience and objectives (maximum 150 words) with their nominations.
