RE 2019 AGM motion #2
RE AGM motion #2
WHEREAS an interdepartmental committee is vital to maintaining and updating incumbent-based career progressions frameworks; and
WHEREAS the RE Group collective agreement has specific career development requirements that require a discussion forum, as evidence by the recent policy grievance settlement on conference attendance; and
WHEREAS departments and agencies are increasingly taking their own action to modify our career progression frameworks, performance management standards, and other issues of concern to RE career development,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the RE Group asks the President of PIPSC to continue to assign staff resources to the RE Career Development Consultation Committee, with the aim of arranging a meeting with Treasury Board by September 30th.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT if regular meetings do not commence by the aforementioned date, a policy grievance be filed.
Commentary
Since a similar motion was passed last year, a PIPSC staff person has been assigned to the file, but they have had difficult establishing momentum with TBS. The staff person had a meeting with the TBS negotiator for the RE Group, but no full meeting has taken place.
