Notes

• Each participant introduced themselves.
• Andrea presented a deck "PIPSC Introduction for Executive Members" that explains the roles and differences between the Branch and SP group. See Homepage of this Loop board for more information. Andrea explained the structure of the Loop board.
• Branches and departments meet twice a year, including ADMs. Also HR. Meeting minutes should be online (link will be added). No "formal" RE sub-group
• Ontario event dates are in the event page: Ontario Regional Council March 28 (typically 6 delegate seats), Ontario Region Steward Council Sept 12, National AGM Dec 12-13 (normally 2 delegates). Two sessions of Steward training and Advanced Steward training in Spring and Fall. SP AGM April 4 in Montreal (any members can apply by Jan 24 to be a delegate); travel day on Fri, meeting on Sat, worktime is covered.
• Info bulletin (see Loop page under Brainstorming for ideas to be added). Hoping to send 2x/year.
• Possible to push back on HR system of negative personal days and other vacation types. Bill to raise at HR LMCC
• Potential events for the year: ice cream was popular (Summer), Lunch and Learn for retirement has interest (Spring), Introduction to PIPSC, if/when government changes, if Work Force Adjustment happens (presentation exists).

Notes

• SP subgroup needs a new VP out of its existing Executives. Those eligible, please think about it.
• Info bulletin aiming for mid-March release so can put in end of fiscal reminders, like using personal days. May go faster if split up writing articles. Other ideas can be added to the Info bulletin page. E.g., gym is open, leave travel for management.
• Lunch and Learn: Need date, logistics. Suggest mid/late-April to early-May (after fiscal, before summer). Evening, couple hours. Eligible for individual follow-up on finances and recommendations. For people at any stage in their career. May be limited by cost so have to cap # people. Reach out to those involved last time (start by asking PIPSC about their past contract); go from there.
• Roundtable: Mandatory training - can we give feedback to evaluate redundancies? We can provide a briefing note to Waheed to raise at HR-LMCC. No good tracker/alert on how often to renew. ECCC learning space has, see Relevant Links below.

Workforce Adjustment (WFA) Lunch & Learn:

Lunch and Learn from PIPSC on WFA. English sessions are March 21 and March 26. Members were sent the registration message to their personal e-mail account.

• Members can register for the sessions.
• If further interest arises, the possibility of hosting an additional session will be explored.
• Past webinars are typically posted online for those unable to attend live.

Retirement Information Session

The branch is scheduling an information session on Retirement. Looking at a date in April or May. Generally, it's advised to take a retirement course throughout your career, at beginning, midpoint, and close to end. The organization is affiliated with Service Plus and has offered this session to PIPSC subgroups in the past.

Previous sessions were:

• 2.5 hours long, held virtually
• Scheduled at 5:30-8:00 PM or 6:30-9:00 PM
• Allowed 50 participants per session
• Cost: $XXX per session

• Action Item: Volunteers (Katherine and Stoyka) happy to help out info (Andrea will reach out to confirm availability, pricing, and potential dates (April/May preferred).

SP VP vacancy: still looking for a volunteer. It would help if the subgroup needed to issue a cheque to cover an expense such as for member meetings.
