As part of the National Film Board (NFB)’s work on pay equity, minor changes have been made to the single evaluation plan. One of these changes, affecting supervision, could have an impact on our members, which is why we’d like to know your occupational status.
We’ll pass on the information gathered to the employer so that they can review the situation and, if necessary, add these tasks to your job description.
So, if you consider yourself to be a functional supervisor, it’s essential that you let us know.
Functional supervision refers to the expected responsibility for organizing, assigning or reviewing (with the aim of providing feedback or ensuring expected quality standards) the work of different people without direct supervision of these people.
This supervision excludes tasks such as forwarding work or requests, cross-checking another person’s work, acting as a resource person in his/her field of expertise.
If your direct supervision is already recognized, functional supervision cannot be recognized as well.
Please reply by February 10, 2025, to the following address: remuneration@ipfpc.ca including the tasks for which you consider you exercise functional supervision and a brief explanation.
