Prioritize Psychological Health and Safety, and Wellness to Build a Stronger Culture of Care!

Dear colleagues and friends,

The health and well-being of our members is critical to the success of the public service. We perform at our best when we are physically and psychologically healthy, and when our work environments are supportive and respectful, enabling us to collaborate, build, and innovate.

It is with great pleasure that I share with you ECCC’s Mental Health and Wellness Strategy 2025–2028, which is the result of extensive consultations with employees, managers and executives and builds on our commitment to fostering a healthy work environment and conditions that enable all ECCC employees to thrive. You can access the Strategy at the above link on Departmental network, or access the pdf version here (Link to pdf)

The Strategy takes a holistic approach to enhance psychological health, safety and well-being, closely linked with professional success and productivity. It includes various initiatives that prioritize employees' physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being while fostering a respectful, positive, and inclusive work environment.

I also encourage you to build in your daily routine self-care activities, set boundaries, build resilience and skills to help improve and maintain your mental health while dealing unavoidable with stressors that are beyond your control.

Stay safe, stay well!

Respectfully,

Waheed Khan
