NEW BUSINESS

Lunch & Learn Survey Results

A survey was carried out at the 2020 AGM that members had the opportunity to complete.  The results from this survey indicated that the most supportive of the following topics:

  • Updates to our Collective Agreement / Benefits in our Contract
  • Public Service Superannuation Pension Plan
  • Leave Provisions (i.e. vacation, medical, family related, professional development, etc.)

The executive committee is actively pursuing 1-2 lunch and learn sessions via PIPSC-HQ and will notify members when they become available.

Jason Knight also suggested the executive consider the topic of “Phoenix damage compensation” covering back-pay, secondary fees, etc.

SP SUB-GROUP

CHAIR’S REPORT/ 2020 ACTIVITIES (Dan Fulton)

 

  • Quiet year activity-wise, mainly due to the pandemic & shift in priorities. 
  • Lisa (Vice-chair) is investigating Lunch & Learn topics that could be presented this coming year (2021)
  • PIPSC-HQ issued a policy for 2021 re: flexibility in budgetary rules due to the pandemic (i.e. 2021 budget planning can be established by the executive & submitted later in the calendar year).

Our Executive is composed of 7 members (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as 3 members-at-large).  Each term lasts for two years, staggered so that roughly half of the Executive is elected each year.

  • Vice-President and Treasurer are up for election this year. 
  • 1 Member-at-Large position is up for election.
