Dear Members of AV Group on South Vancouver Island,
PIPSC is pleased to announce the re-formation of the South Vancouver Island (SVI) AV Subgroup.
Our 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for the ratification of the subgroup bylaws and to hold the election for the executive.

When: October 18 5:30 to 6:30pm
Location: Pacific Forestry Center Conference Room, 506 West Burnside Road, Victoria BC V8Z 1M4
Dinner: Catered, please RSVP no later than October 12 to reserve your meal and address any dietary restrictions
Guest Speaker: Peter Gabriel, AV Group National President (topics to include Collective Bargaining and EWSP updates)
All executive positions are open for election, they include:
- a President,
- a Vice-President,
- a Secretary-Treasurer or,
- alternatively, a Secretary and a Treasurer, and
- one member at large or two if a Secretary-Treasurer is elected. **note below
**Our Subgroup includes 49 members including rands, making our executive limit a maximum of 5 people.
The term of office of an executive member shall not exceed three (3) years. The interim executive has suggested rotating the executive meetings between Esquimalt and Victoria to ensure maximum participation of geographically diverse locations of our members. Other suggestions are welcome to encourage member participation.
Members who wish to run for any position should review the PIPSC bylaws that govern the formation of Subgroupshttp://www.pipsc.ca/about/governance/bylaws-and-regulations#10.2 and then the AV Group bylaws section 4.1 http://www.pipsc.ca/groups/av/bylaws regarding elections to the executive.
