My letter to Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council

Fellow members,

I recently wrote to Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council, to express my concerns with his recent comments claiming it is difficult to fire public servants. Rather than lament how hard it is to fire people, my letter issues him a call to action on such critical matters as building a new functioning pay system, strengthening whistle blower protections, and ending bullying and harassment in our workplaces.

As you are certainly aware given the extensive media coverage over the past few days, at time of writing bed bugs have been found in at least 8 government buildings located in the National Capital Region. They have also been reported in federal government buildings in Montreal and Winnipeg. There may be other affected locations across Canada that have yet to be formally identified.
