NUREG Bargaining Update # 5 – NUREG Members Ratify Tentative Agreement

We are pleased to announce that the NUREG group has voted in favour of the new collective agreement!

Just as we have completed our ratification process, the employer is concurrently engaging in its ratification process. This involves both receiving a non-objection letter from Treasury Board Secretariat, and Governor-In-Council approval from Cabinet.

NUREG Vote on the NUREG Group Tentative Agreement – July, 2019

Dear NUREG member,

Your NUREG Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that on May 31, 2019 we signed a tentative agreement to finish this round of collective bargaining.  The Bargaining Team would like to thank all members for their support during this round of bargaining. We believe we have reached the best deal possible in what has been a challenging round of negotiations.

NUREG and the Employer exchanged proposals on March 25, 2019.  NUREG submitted a comprehensive package of proposals, seeking to address the issues and concerns identified by members in our bargaining survey.  The Employer identified a number of issues for discussion, however there are no demands for concessions.

Thank you to everyone who completed our Bargaining Survey.  Your Bargaining Team met January 9 to 11, 2019, to prepare our proposals using the feedback we received from the survey results.  Our members' level of participation and written comments are encouraging. Your continued support and engagement is essential in identifying and achieving priorities for this round of bargaining.

The NUREG Group collective agreement expired on March 31st 2018. You are invited to complete this online survey in order to provide the bargaining team with your input.
Our new Bargaining Team held our first meeting in Ottawa from Tuesday November 13 to Thursday November 15, 2018, and had a busy three days establishing the foundation for the upcoming negotiations with the Employer. The team received training on the bargaining process, legal framework and negotiation methods.
