2017 Branch Activities

May 25, 2017 AGM:  Current Executive elected by acclamation.  The AGM was held at Golf’s Steak House, jointly with the Kitchener AFS Subgroup.  Sherry Smith was the chair, Doug Mason and Shawn Gillis were the guest speakers.  They spoke about the current bargaining situation and the proposed MOU on sick leave.  Attendance was about 110 people, one of our best attended AGM’s of the past few years.

November 22, 2017:  Lunch & Learn on Mobilization, Collective Agreement, and sick leave MOU which was presented by Doug Mason and Shawn Gillis.  This event was held over lunch in the Kitchener Public Library auditorium.  Pizza was served and it was very well attended.

December 13, 2017:  Christmas Social was held at Golf’s Steak House.  This was our third annual Christmas dinner.  The event has grown from about 80 people three years ago to well over a hundred this year.  It has become a very popular event that our members look forward to and appreciate.  It is funded in partnership with the Kitchener AFS subgroup.
