2. Welcome to the new members of the Branch Nicole, Billie
3. AGM comments, what went well, what we can improve on.
People were upset that they perceived the VP did not talk very much. It was relayed by the VP afterwards that she did not know what people wanted to hear. People commented on wanting steward recognition at the AGM; it’s noted that we did have a steward appreciation event this year. People really liked the food at the Italian Club.
4. All members had been previously emailed survey regarding member engagement activities - discussion of ideas, pre planning stages, potential dates - keeping in mind feedback from members with barriers (time, day of the week, parking, costs associated or location (i.e., always in Kingston - not reaching members further out). Many people suggested a summer BBQ event; Leasha looking into permits, availability etc.
Tentative dates would be in the first two weeks of August on a Sunday; 11 am to 2 pm. Ideas include a bouncy castle at Lake Ontario Park and face painting. The idea of a raffle, donations to the food bank or clothing, and toiletries for a shelter were discussed. Billie might be able to bring a griddle.
Team to reach out to other unions to garner more members and interest (USJE, CAPE,UCCO, ACFO, IBEW); they need to decide by June 27.
Meet and Greet closer to the Brockville area (appetizers & drinks); Friday evening in September (Brockville Brewing Company or Thousand Islands Brewing Company)
January 2026 another steward appreciation event (The Keg; River Mill Restaurant or other).
