You belong to the Ottawa West Branch (OWB) - if your pre-Covid19 physical place of work is located in the NCR bounded South of the Ottawa River, West of Preston, West of the Rideau Canal and you do not work for Statistics, DND, PHAC, and HC.
You belong to the Ottawa South Branch (OSB) - if your pre-Covid19 physical place of work is located in the NCR bounded East of the Rideau River, South of Highway 417 and extending to Eastern Boundary of NCR and you do not work for DND and HC.
Learning objectives:
Refresh the basics of personal tax law.
Develop effective strategies to legally minimize the amount of tax payable.
Learn how to be proactive in tax planning and detailed record keeping.
Understand the three main categories for tax planning:
- Reducing income subject to tax.
- Maximizing deductions and using all allowable tax credits.
- Pandemic working from home allowances and how to file them.
