Executive Meetings

The Executive met May 22, 2017, September 12, 2017 and April 19, 2018.

General Meeting Date(s)

The 2017 Branch AGM was held December 7, 2017 at ARC Hospitality in Halifax with 40 members attending.

Highlights and Membership Concerns

The Branch continued to focus its energy and resources on reaching out to members, member engagement, providing opportunities to network and providing information on current issues and concerns.

The Branch supported many member engagement events, information sessions and member appreciation events held by its groups and sub-groups.

Shakespeare by the Sea:  Members and their family attended a Peter Pan play by Shakespeare by the Sea at Point Pleasant Park on August 29, 2017. This was a joint event with Halifax DND Branch; 107 individuals attended from the Halifax Branch. We received great feedback from several members; they enjoyed the show, the outdoor venue and the food.

Hatfield Farm & Adventures: Members and their families enjoyed “Cowpoke” adventure at Hatfield Farm on November 4th, 2017.  178 individuals attended.  Feedback from members and their families was excellent 

The Emera Oval:  Members and their families skated around the outdoor Emera Oval in Halifax on March 3, 2018. Skates & helmets were provided if needed. Hot chocolate was provided to members and their families. This was a joint event with Halifax DND Branch. Attendance was low; 20 individuals attended. 

The Halifax Branch also had a presence at the Pride Parade.

The Branch again contributed to the annual Seasonal Social held at and hosted by the PIPSC Regional Office in December.
