The Atlantic Regional Executive is looking for volunteers to participate as members of the Atlantic Young Professionals Committee (AYPC).
All Atlantic members in good standing are welcome to put their names forward, but preference will be given to members under 40 years of age. Ideally the committee will consist of 8 youth, two from each Atlantic province, plus the Atlantic Regional Director and one member of the Atlantic Regional Executive.
For the upcoming two year term there are four positions. Terms will commence on May 29th, 2020, at the AYPC’s meeting in Fredericton, NB.
The Mandate of the committee is to provide advice to the Regional Executive on matters related to young professionals, increase confidence, skills, and knowledge regarding the union among young professionals and mobilize young professionals to play a role in building the union for the future. Attached for you information is a copy of the AYPC’s Terms of Reference.
Objectives of the Committee include but are not limited to identify barriers, advocate on behalf of young professionals, raise issues specific to young professionals, foster relationships with like minded community groups, outreach to young professionals in the workplace and educate the youth on the union and its benefits.
