10.7 AGM Committee The Group Executive shall appoint an AGM Committee to act as liaison between the Executive and the Institute, to plan the location of the AGM, review and choose meals, hospitality and any activities outside of the meeting, to assist at the AGM with registration and other duties.
The committee has planned a great AGM this Year. Our theme is “Quebec – New Subgroup” as we want to promote and support our Quebec members in Quebec City. This is part of the AV Group sub-group planning strategy in 2018. Our goal is to engage our Quebec City and creat a new supgroup.
This year we had 64 applicants. Unfortunately we only have 39 delegate spots, as per the PIPSC policy, 13 spots are allocated to the National Executive and there were 26 available spots for stewards, sub group Presidents and new members for succession. Each regional representative was given the list of names submitted from each region and were allocated a number of delegates based on their regional counts. The selections were based on the member’s union participation, dedication and most importantly stewardship. We had to leave a lot of very active member off of the list as we tried to balance PG, CO and AU participation. We did achieve in bringing in some new members this year and therefore leave some who have attended many AGMs in the past off of this year's list.
The Committee has ordered a laptop bag for all delegates with our AV Group and PIPSC logos, English and French version as well.
AGM Committee Hospitality Room Friday night at 8pm. Room number to follow via email.
The committee has worked well together during the past year and we want to thank Natalie Bélanger, our PIPSC Administrator, for all the great work.
On behalf of the AGM Committee,
Peter Gabriel - Chair
