Timetable of Important Dates – PIPSC 2018 National Elections

By-Law 22.1:

Commencing in 2015, there shall be an election of Officers and Directors of the Institute every three (3) years.  On or before the first (1st) day of September, the Board shall fix the date for the election of Officers and Directors, which shall take place at the Annual General Meeting.  The newly elected Officers and Directors shall take office in the first (1^st) day of January, following the election.

Regulation 22.1.1:

Not less than fourteen (14) weeks prior to the date fixed for election of Officers and Directors, the Institute shall forward to each member entitled to vote for such candidates, a Notice of Election containing a nomination form, details of the positions open, together with formal notification of the date of elections, and the last day for nominations. 

Regulation 22.1.2:

Nominations must be in writing, signed by at least one hundred (100) members for candidates for the office of President, fifty (50) for the office of Vice-President, and twenty-five (25) for the position of Regional Director, and contain the consent of the nominees attested to by their signature.  Such nominations must be received at the National Office not later than 5.00 p.m. on the day fixed for the close of nominations.  The date fixed for the close of nominations shall be not less than ten (10) weeks before the date fixed for the election.

Final Biographical Sketches shall be included with the ‘Nomination’ form and ‘Signature’ form(s) submissions - to be received at the National Office not later than the date and time fixed for the receipt of nominations.  See PIPSC Regulation R22.1.3

Regulation 22.1.4.1:

Not later than twenty-one (21) days before the day fixed for the return of ballots, distribution of ballots, together with the appropriate biographical sketches shall begin to be sent to each member entitled to vote.

Regulation 22.1.4.2:

Only ballots returned in the manner specified by the Elections Committee and received by the Executive Secretary by the date and time specified by the Board in the Notice of Election shall be considered valid.

Regulation 22.1.5.3:

Candidates will be advised of the results of the election on completion of the processing of results.  The results of the election shall be reported to the membership.

Processing of results by the Elections Committee

beginning at noon EST, November 2, 2018 and continuing the next day at 9:00 A.M. until completion.
