Colleagues,
Our RO/RCO bargaining team including our PIPSC negotiator met with NRC management on October 11 and 12. As we wrote in our last update, the bargaining meeting focused on the non-monetary items on our list of demands; pay negotiations will start at a later date.
The good news is that some progress was made: our PIPSC RO/RCO team and NRC management team each took the time to explain their demands and give their initial reaction to the demands on the other side. The challenges ahead are also becoming clear
Our next bargaining meeting is set for December 5, 6 and 7. At that meeting we will continue to seek non-monetary clauses in our collective agreement such as meaningful ongoing consultation by NRC management with the RO/RCO group in the spirit of the NRC Dialogue Action Plan report, as well as better implementation of the performance review (CTE) process, appropriate career and professional development opportunities, and other required improvements as identified by our members in the bargaining survey and ongoing discussions with members.
A sincere thank you goes out to everyone who wore their PIPSC Better Together pin last week while our team was bargaining. Your support is so appreciated! We will be preparing another update to send you with information about the pay settlements of other groups, our conciliation-strike resolution process, and a summary of the current bargaining demands.
In the meantime, please continue to check our website for any updates or news:
