PIPSC RMGNS - AGM & chapter election (May 16 2024)

The Nova Scotia Chapter of the Retired Members Guild would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year hosted at Smitty's Family Restaurant at Lacewood Plaza.
The AGM portion of the evening will begin at 1:00 pm, with a meal break shortly thereafter. Business of the AGM will include:

Agenda

Roll Call (members of the Guild Executive);

Approval of the Agenda;
-
Adoption of the Minutes of the Previous Annual General Meeting;
-
Election of Executive Positions;
-
Business Arising from the Minutes;
-
Report of the President;
-
Annual Financial Report;
-
New Business, including By-Law amendments.

For the election process, all members in good standing are invited to attend and take part in the voting process. All 4 executive positions are open for election (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary). Members wishing to nominate a fellow member for an executive position may do so via an email to myself (garylegassie@hotmail.com). Details that must be included in the email are as follows:
- Person being nominated (nominator must provide acknowledgement from the nominee that they wish to be considered for the position);
- Nominator;
- Person to second the motion of nomination.
Note that nomination calls may also come from the floor at the meeting and nominations in absentia will be entertained, however, nominees in attendance at the meeting will be preferentially acclaimed.
If you would like to attend the AGM, it is ESSENTIAL that you RSVP via a separate email to me (garylegassie@hotmail.com) by noon May 1, 2024, to determine facility layout. Members may also submit motions they would like to bring forward to the floor of the AGM to me by noon on May 9, 2024.
