Hello members of the BC/Yukon Region.

As your new Regional Director I wanted to introduce myself. I have been a proud member of PIPSC since 2001, working as a Geospatial Analyst (SP-PC) for Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service in Victoria. I feel honoured and privileged to have this opportunity to represent all the members of our region.

I believe that a strong, active union is key to protecting our hard earned rights and to improving the welfare of our members and all Canadians. My activism is rooted in a desire to help my fellow members as well as in getting people excited and involved in their union.

Over the next several months I will work with the Regional Executive to build and strengthen connections with our branches and to ensure members across the region have their voices heard. I’m also committed to making sure the needs of our members are brought to the Board of Directors. You can help make us a stronger union by getting more involved. Here are simple ways to do that:

  • Be informed, read the PIPSC emails that come to you;
  • Attend your sub-group and/or branch AGM’s. Consider joining an executive of your branch or sub-group, attend Lunch & Learns and member engagement events;
  • Keep changing the conversation with friends and family, and promote the positive values of unions; and
  • Become a Steward!

Please reach out to me with any questions, issues, or concerns you might have and I will help the best I can. I can be reached at mcranny@pipsc.ca.

In Solidarity,

Morgan Cranny

Director, BC/Yukon Region
