The parties met in Beausejour, MB on January 9, 10 and 11, 2018. Additional dates are scheduled for January 30, 31 and February 1, 2018 and also February 6, 7 and 8, 2018, once again in Beausejour. Federal Mediators continue to facilitate the Interest Based Negotiation process and discussions continue to be productive. Significant progress was made on a number of issues resulting in multiple proposed changes to Collective Agreement articles being tentatively agreed to.
WPEG and the Company have agreed to new language pertaining to averaging hours of work consistent with current language contained in the WTEG Collective Agreement. This change will be implemented January 15, 2018. The details to be distributed by WPEG Executive to all WPEG members.
All committee members are looking forward to further candid dialogue on issues with the common goal to conclude Collective Agreements that are acceptable, fair and equitable for all.
