SP Elections 2019 - Rihana Peiman

I am seeking your vote to represent you on SP Executive with passion and energy. I am actively involved in my workplace, NRCan, to improve our working conditions where scientists, particularly young professionals can fully utilize their talents. I am an active member of NRCan Young Professional Network, the reviewer of International Journal of Remote Sensing (RS) & Canadian Journal of RS and the youngest member of the Awards & Fellows committee at the Canadian RS Society.

I received my MSc and PhD from Italy. I worked as a project lead in both Texas and Alberta. After 10 years experience in science and engineering, it was time for me to join the federal government of Canada where I could work on Canada- wide projects mostly funded by the Canadian Space Agency. By joining the SP National Executive, I will be focused on solutions and lifting up the voices of all employees, especially younger ones who are less heard. It is time to combine the experience and knowledge of senior executives with the positive energy and fresh perspective that I can bring. Why wait for tomorrow when we can be the young leaders of today!
