NR Group 2019 Election - Cameron Smith

Fellow Members,

I am seeking your support for election to the PIPSC NR National Executive. My interest is to represent and contribute to improving members’ status and standards.  

My experience and objectives in support of my representing members are as follows:

Professional

  • As a person who has worked up the ranks from an AR 03 to AR 05 Senior Landscape Architect participating in multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, architects and land surveyors understood are many of the issues facing members; and
  • From working in the Dept. of PSPC, Architecture and Engineering Services, Operations:
    • Ontario Region, 2000 to 2011 and NCR, 2011 to present in a variety of roles including project and design management, acting management positions and QA specialist understood are many of the challenges to achieving change.

PIPSC

  • As a regular PIPSC NCR member in good standing, 2011 to Present;
  • As an active Steward dealing with Phoenix, labour relations, HR and EPMA issues, 2016 to Present;
  • NR Sub-group Executive, Member at Large, 2016-17;
  • NR Sub-group President, 2018 to Present; and
  • AR Representative to the NR Collective Bargaining Team, 2018 to Present

Objectives

  • To represent and serve to the best of my ability:
    •  members’ interests;
    •  the values, ethics and integrity of PIPSC and NR Executive in accordance with their respective constitutions and by-laws; and
  • To work for continued fairness and equality for all NR members.
