On December 15, 2017 the Collective Agreement was approved by the Governor General in Council. All parties have now approved the Agreement and will be scheduling a date for signing early in the new year. Once the Agreement is signed, the Employer has 120 days to implement the terms of the Agreement and make payments reflective of the negotiated retroactive economic increases. Please stay posted as the Agreement is finalized.  

Special note to employees who telework, are living outside daily commuting distance of Calgary and are receiving the Calgary Allowance: Starting January 1, 2018, the new Agreement includes a 6 month phase-out of the allowance for these employees. The allowance will be initially decreased by 50%. In anticipation of implementation issues and to protect yourself in a potential overpayment situation consider the allowance reduced as such, even if the Employer continues to pay the full amount.
