Labour Relations Officer Report

Greetings,

I was responsible for the Labour Relations and Consultation portfolio during the past year. This role has been used as a liaison between the Group and the departmental Presidents of Consultation as well as with the Labour Relations section of PIPSC.

I have attended the Working Group on Consultation (WGC) and the Advisory Council as an Observer on behalf of the Group, reporting back at the next Executive meeting.

Some of the work I’ve done this term includes;

  • Seeking grievance statistics from PIPSC LR for use in Bargaining
  • Presenting the progress of the Contracting Out Action Plan to Presidents of Consultation
  • Bringing concerns of the Group to the WGC such as areas of selection for staffing, contracting out, and implementation of the CIO Suite of Generic Job Descriptions
  • Directing members to the right resource to deal with their issues
