Nearly 70 Purchasing Officers (in the Purchasing Group) have been deemed critical by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), as they are rapidly procuring emergency products that are being delivered to hospitals and communities through Canada. More on this soon.
Our Commerce Officers (CO) from the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISEDC), have been tasked to get Canadian manufacturers producing and delivering emergency products in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Regional Economic Development Canada Agency offices, COs are delivering Strategic Innovation Funds, providing economic assistance to small and medium-sized businesses. Through the Canada Emergency Business Account, COs are providing support to businesses to get through the COVID-19 crisis.
