Total AV membership in the Ontario Region as of June 1, 2018 was 360

Existing Subgroups:
A) Toronto Subgroup
B) Northern Ontario Subgroup
C) Southern Ontario Subgroup – recommendation sent to PIPSC National Executive for this subgroup to be dissolved in 2019 as lack of interest, no members to want to be subgroup executives.

Potential Subgroups to be developed (need 5 names per location to pledge their interest to form a subgroup, as per PIPSC By-Laws)
A) Guelph - AGCAN
B) Hamilton/Burlington - ISED, ECC, DFO, NRCAN
C) London - RCMP, ISED
D) Kingston

Legacy planning in the Ontario Region
Actively engage the young professional AV Group membership (members under 35 years)

Some of the largest employers with PIPSC members in Ontario are:
A) ISED portfolio which includes Competition Bureau, CIPO, OSB, Fedev(ESO)
B) PSPC
C) AGCAN

-PIPSC AV Group in ISED’s  portfolio departments in Ontario has the largest numbers of young professionals in the Ontario region

AV Subgroups in Ontario to  actively engage members and also our young professionals (YP) by focusing activities that are of interest to this demographic:
a) Request Vice-President James Bright attendance at AV group events that are focussed on YPs
b) Arrange activities in cities where there are large numbers of YPs such as:
1) Toronto, 2) Burlington/Hamilton 3) Guelph 4) London

1) Lunch and Learn bargaining update – Date to be announced
2) AGM to be held in spring 2020, date to be announced

B) Northern Ontario Subgroup
1) Joint Lunch and Learn in September 2019 with Toronto Subgroup
2) AGM to be held in spring 2020

C) Joint Toronto and Northern Ontario Subgroup Lunch and Learn in Sept 2019 via web conference, details to be announced in the fall
